Gabriella Karni named president of Hotbar.com
Tel Aviv -- Jan. 31, 2000-- Hotbar.com, the leading provider of browser enhancement
software for "Skinning" the Microsoft Explorer Browser, has named Gabriella Karni as
company president.
Karni, a co-founder in the company, established Hotbar.com with partner Oren Dobronsky in mid-1999. Karni is a licensed psychotherapist with a Masters Degree in Educational Psychology (suma com laude) from Tel Aviv University, specializing in the study of Giftedness, Creativity and Intelligence. She has maintained a private practice and has regularly taught psychology at Levinsky Teachers College for the past eight years.
"Gaby has played an instrumental role in the development of the product and the company," said Hotbar.com Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer Oren Dobronsky. "Her professional background allows her to identify what Internet surfers are looking for in their continuous quest for personalizing the surfing experience. Prior to joining Hotbar.com, Karni served as Vice President of Israel Board Ltd., from 1997 to 1999. The Israel Board specialized in managing its own e-Community portal, reaching an active membership of 35,000 local users. As Vice President, she was responsible for managing all aspects of the company's creative and financial operations.
From 1992 to 1995 Karni co-founded and served as the CEO and CFO for Gesher El Ltd., an Israel-based medical services company. It was at Gesher El where Karni first integrated both her knowledge of business and psychology. Her inventive practices of uniting the physical and psychological world into a hybrid form of enterprise enabled Karni to achieve optimum results.
