Use any graphics application, from Microsoft® Paint through Adobe Photoshop®, to create a file 800 pixels wide by 135 pixels high.
Make your skin using paint, draw, or photographic affects.
Save your skin in BMP format.

Be sure to the name of your file consists only of letters and numbers. Any file names that contain extra symbols will not be accepted by Hotbar. (# for example is an unacceptable symbol)

Take a minute to go through our Skin Design Tips page where we've come up with some helpful hints to make your skins better!

Using the Skins for private use

(view on your browser only)

Copy your BMP image file to the appropriate folder in your hard drive*
(be sure to put a copy and not the original file).

Open Hotbar.com online and find "My Private Collection" under the Skins
button of your toolbar.
Find your Skin in this collection. Click to see it on your browser.

Friends and family can view the skins you make in the same manner. Send
them your BMP file and tell them where to place it on their computer.

Read and agree to the agreement terms and conditions.
Attach your skins to an email containing: your name, email

address, and a subject line that reads:
"I accept the upload agreement terms mentioned in Hotbar.com site"
Without this subject we cannot accept your skins.
Send the email to Upload@hotbar.com.

(Please check to see that the name of your skin file contains letters and numbers only or Hotbar will not be able to process your skin.)

Two things will occur when you send your skin designs to Hotbar:
  • Your skins will be available online
  • Your skins will be automatically given a personal gallery space that
    contains your creations only
