How do I install Hotbar? |
|
To install Hotbar simply go to: www.hotbar.com , click the Download link and follow on-screen instructions.
If you can´t see the download link, it indicates a previous attempt to install Hotbar. If this is the case, you will need to reinstall Hotbar:
1) Uninstall your current version of Hotbar by clicking the link: http://client.hotbar.com/downloads/Uninstaller/Uninstaller.exe click ´Run´ and follow on-screen instructions.
2) Restart your computer.
3) Install Hotbar by going to our site: http://www.hotbar.com
*Please note: there are some security programs that might block or damage software’s installation. If you are experiencing problems during the installation you may try to temporarily disable your security program and try to reinstall Hotbar again.
Please note that Hotbar is a safe and secure program and is tested daily to make sure it is always safe.
If you are still experiencing problems with the installation process please contact our Support Team with more information so we will be able to further assist you.
After the installation process completes, you should have 2 Hotbar toolbars installed. One on your browser (Internet Explorer) and one on your email program (Outlook/Outlook Express).
If you can´t see the Hotbar toolbars, please check if the toolbars are enabled:

Go to "View" -> "Toolbars" -> Make sure "Hotbar" is checked.
Outlook:

If you use Microsoft Outlook:
1. In your Microsoft Outlook window go to ´Tools´ -> ´Options´ -> ´Mail Format´ -> ´Fonts´.
2. Check the ´Always use my fonts´ option.
If you use Outlook Express :
1. Click ´Tools´ -> ´Options´ -> ´Compose´.
2. Click the ´Font settings´ button and choose the font you like.

Yes! Hotbar is compatible with Windows Live Hotmail.
If you are experiencing problems using Hotbar with your Hotmail account, please note:
When Hotbar is properly installed, you should see the Hotbar toolbar on your Internet Explorer browser.
*While you can install Hotbar using the Firefox browser, the Hotbar toolbar will not appear on your Firefox. Once opening Internet Explorer you will be able to see and use Hotbar toolbar.

How does the Hotbar email toolbar effect the functionality of my email application? |

Hotbar is a user friendly program, and it is of paramount importance to us that our program will function properly and will be easily installed and used.
Hotbar’s technology is not intended to affect the existing functionality of your email application nor your ability to send or receive emails. Hotbar simply enables you to add graphics, animations and other enhancements to your emails.
Please note: Once you add a Hotbar feature to the email message, the message’s format is changed to HTML. Some of the options of Plain Text or Rich Text (e.g. "Paste Special", "Insert Shortcut", etc.) are not available in the HTML format.
You can use these options before applying Hotbar items to your message.

How can I remove Hotbar? |

To remove Hotbar from your computer, please do the following:
1. Close all open applications/programs/windows
2. Go to: Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs
3. Click on Hotbar
4. Click Change/Remove button

6. Restart your computer

Hotbar is a user friendly program, and it is of paramount importance to us that our program will function properly and will be easily installed and used.

How can I add animations or emoticons to my email message? |

Inserting an animation/emoticon from the Hotbar email toolbar can be done in two ways:
1. If you are using web based mail such as Windows Live Hotmail or Yahoo, simply compose a new message, place your cursor in the email body, and click the smiley or butterfly icon from the Hotbar toolbar to select the emoticon/animation you would like to use. This will automatically download it to your email.
2. If you are using email program such as Outlook or Outlook Express, click on one of the email features buttons from the Hotbar toolbar to select the image you would like to use. This will open a new message window with the selected image inserted at the beginning of the message.
* In order to place an image on a specific location in the email body, place the blinking cursor on the desired location, then insert the image you want to use. |

What can I do to stop the Hotbar popups? |
|
Hotbar is designed to give you free access to games, downloads, and other premium online content, in exchange for a few advertisements per day that are directed toward what you are already searching for. As you search the Internet with a search engine, Hotbar brings you relevant, targeted advertisements.
It is our policy that Hotbar is downloaded and installed only with the user´s knowledge and only after we receive the user´s consent to install the software. We specifically describe before installation the process and the fact that advertisements will be displayed after installation. We require users to give us their active consent to the software installation and the associated legal agreements by clicking an acceptance button.
All Hotbar advertisements are labeled as from Hotbar. If you receive other popups and they are not labeled as from Hotbar then you must likely have another program on your computer causing this to happen. In order to see if there are any programs you do not recognize you may want to open the Add/Remove programs list by clicking Start -> Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs.

I keep getting an "Ooops..." message when trying to add emoticons or animation to my email |

If you receive the "Ooops…" message it means either of the following:
1. You are using your email in a plain text format.
In order to insert emoticons and animations to your email, you must make sure that your email is in Rich Text format.
Compose a new message using your Hotmail, Yahoo or Gmail account and make sure you can see "Show Plain Text" message right below the Subject line (in Hotmail or Gmail) or "Plain Text" message on the right hand side of the Subject line (in Yahoo).
2. Your cursor is not placed in the email message body and is placed on the "To" or "Subject" line.
In order to insert emoticons and animations to your email, you must first place your cursor in the email body, where you want the emoticons or animations to appear.
Click the smiley or butterfly icon from the Hotbar toolbar and simply choose your favorite image. This will automatically download it to your email. |

In what languages is Hotbar available? |
|
Hotbar is now displayed on Outlook and Outlook Express in various languages depending on your Regional Languages and settings.
*Please note that the content under the various features will remain in English.
To change the toolbar button language please do the following:
1) Close your browser and mail program.
2) Go to "Start" -> "Settings" -> "Control Panel" -> "Regional and Language Options"
3) Under "Advanced" tab choose the language you want
4) Click on "Apply" and "OK".
5) You will be prompted to restart your computer in order for the new settings to take effect.
6) Delete your Hotbar V3.0 folder:
*Please note that in order to see the V3.0 folder, you have to go to "My Computer" and enable the "show hidden files and folder" option under "Tools" ->"Folder Option" -> "View
The V3.0 folder is located under: ""C:\Documents and Settings\[profile name]\Application Data\HB Tools"

I can´t hear my email notifier, what should I do? |

When changing Hotbar email notifiers there will be a short wait of approximately two minutes before your notifier is activated.
If you were never able to hear the notifier, please do the following according to your email program:
Outlook:
1. Please go to ´Tools´ -> ´Options´ ->´Preferences´ -> ´Email Options´ -> ´Advanced Email options´
2. Check under ´When new items arrive´ the line where it states ´Play sound´
Outlook Express
1. Please go to ´Tools´ -> ´Options´ -> ´General´
2. Under ´Send / Receive messages´ please check ´Play sound when new messages arrive´
If you are still experiencing problems with your email notifier please do the following:
1. Go to the ´Start´ menu -> ´Settings´ -> ´Control Panel´
2. Please double click on the ´Sound and Multimedia´ icon.
3. Under ´Sounds´ click on ´New Mail Notification´. Under ´Name´ choose ´Notify´ from the menu.
4. Click ´Apply´ and then ´OK´.
5. Please try to re-apply a Hotbar notifier of your choice. |

My Premium Activation failed, What should I do? |
|
First make sure that the following programs are closed: Anti Virus, Firewall and any other Clean Up Utility program.
Also, please do the following to make sure that your internet explorer settings allow the activation of the Premium key:
1. Open a new internet explorer window and choose Tools
2. From the Tools menu choose Internet Options
3. Click on the Security tab
4. Under the Security level for this zone please lower the bar to Medium by dragging it downwards
5. Click Apply and OK to save changes
6. Click on the activation link once more, you should now receive the congratulations message notifying you that you´ve activated your premium key
*If the activation has failed it indicates that you have some kind of scanning application or a clean-up utility installed that might damage software´s function. Please contact our Support Team |

Internet Explorer 7.0, which is the default Microsoft® Windows Vista™ browser, has a new feature which allows users to reset their browser settings. Using this feature might temporarily disable your Hotbar toolbar.
To Enable Hotbar Toolbar:
1. Open an Internet Explorer browser
2. Select Tools > Manage Add-ons
3. Under the Disabled list, you will find the following Hotbar related items:
Hotbar (toolbar)
Hotbar (Browser Helper Object)
TVEngine Helper (Browser Helper Object)
4. Click each of these items and choose Enable in the Settings section below, then click OK
5. Close and reopen your browser and Hotbar toolbar should be enabled.

Windows Defender does not have Hotbar on the "permitted files" list. In order to solve this problem, please do the following:
1. Enter: www.hotbar.com to install Hotbar
2. Windows Defender will pop a warning window. Choose Ignore to allow Hotbar.
3. Windows defender will continue to alert you that you have Hotbar installed. You can make sure Hotbar is always allowed on your computer by changing the setting in Windows Defender:
a) From the Start menu select Programs > Windows Defender.
b) Choose Scan option, which will start a scan of your computer.
c) Once the scan is finished, click Review items detected by scanning in order to see which items were detected.
d) If the scan results show Hotbar choose Always Allow under the action tab next to Hotbar and click Apply Actions at the bottom of the screen.
Hotbar will now be allowed on your computer and you will see no further warnings.

I can’t apply Hotbar features to mails in plain text mail format |
|
The Hotbar email features require a higher technology then Plain Text mode and thus are not compatible with Plain text format.
Hotbar works with HTML and Rich text formats and is also compatible with Word mail editor.
When composing a mail using Hotbar features, please make sure your mail format is either HTML or Rich Text.

How do I search for cursors? |
|
You can easily search for cursors. A search option is located at the bottom of each category menu. Simply type in the theme you want and click Search. |

How can I reset my cursor? |
|
When you select a cursor, it automatically becomes your default.
If you wish to return to your default cursor, please click the ´Reset Cursor´ button located on the upper left side of the cursors menu.
If this doesn´t work, please try doing the following:
1. Go to: Start > Settings > Control Panel > Mouse
2. Click on the Pointers tab, open the Scheme Menu
3. Choose either "Windows Default" or "None" option. Once you choose an option it automatically changes your cursor.
4. Click Apply and OK |

Can I save my favorite cursors? |
|
You can view the cursors you recently used by clicking the Recently Used category on the top of the category menu. |
